Did you know that at about five kilometers, Schoorl possesses the widest dune area in the Netherlands? In the Schoorl Dunes, you can go out for a bike ride or hike. Schoorl’s most extraordinary dune does reside in the center itself.

Climbing Dune

Here you will find the famous Klimduin, a 51-meter-high sand mountain that connects directly to an extensive dune and forest area. Through the Schoorl Dunes area runs a well-known Mountain Bike Trail, a challenge for the sporty. The Kerf is a landmark in the dune area. Route to Schoorl by public transportation

From Alkmaar train station, take bus 151 to Schoorl. Get off at the Frederikslaan stop. Cross the road, enter Groenelaantje and follow the footpath. From here it is about a 10-minute walk to the center of Schoorl.
