Cartoonist Dick Bruna has turned 89 years old (16-02-2016). Bruna died in his sleep.
The wooden boat is an initiative of association Dorpsbelangen Egmond ‘Pearl’ aan Zee’. The association wants to immortalize Egmond as the “Miffy Village” with the placement of the boat on the “Miffy by the Sea” plaza. The world-famous rabbit “Miffy” already has a museum in Utrecht, Dick Bruna’s hometown.
Visitors can sit in the boat for a nice photo with Miffy.
