Camperduin
Schoorl, Groet and Camperduin lie like a ribbon on the edge of the National Park “the Schoorl Dunes,” wide dunes covering 1800 hectares. The area is characterized by varied vegetation, several dune streams, miles of biking and hiking trails and three high climbing dunes. A characteristic Dutch polder landscape is visible on the east side. Where the row of dunes ends, the Hondsbossche Zeewering begins with the bird sanctuary “the Wells” at its foot. The development of the village is characterized by detached houses, mostly built along ditches in the early 1900s. The various cores have as shopping facilities and restaurants.
The North Sea beach at Schoorl aan Zee can only be reached by bicycle, while the beach exits at Hargen and Camperduin have parking facilities and a bus stop. Water sports enthusiasts can dock in the small harbor of Hargen, close to the sea and dunes. During the summer months, the village is abuzz with various festivities, such as the sailing, surfing and beach event “Hargen on Sail,” as well as treasure hunts for the kids.
