Every year they come back to the same spot on a corner of an electric sunshade to mate and nest; lovebirds. Every year the few straws and twigs for the warm and safe nest away again. Yet the couple persists in their love for each other and a pigeon family and try again and again, time after time.
Then comes the moment when the female lays her first egg on two twigs that she could just barely hold under her feathers. The male is curious about the first laying of the egg but the egg does not stay on the narrow edge of the sunshade. The egg falls to the ground, broken. The pair of lovebirds perseveres and tries again every spring. Let’s try again next year…..
