A passion for fish for three generations
Fish by the Sea is a true family business. Now the third generation is at the helm and for decades you have been the right place for all the goodies the underwater world has to offer. The best fish on dry land!
Since January 2019, brother Mats and sister Marit have been happily running the restaurant. They took over the business from their parents Abner and Lisette, who in turn took it over from Grandpa Ab and Grandma Janny. Grandpa’s and Grandma’s recipes are still being used, only Mats and Marit are trying to put a fresh new twist on them. Thus, it was traditionally more of a fish store (and was also called differently; Vispaleis Ab Dekker) and can now rightfully be called a restaurant. With a young team in service, a nice draft beer, good wines and an extensive menu, they have broken new ground.
TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG ?
It all started at our grandparents, or local fishmonger of Egmond aan Zee. We took the homemade sauces, salads and recipes with us. The fish store went out. And the love of fish always remains. ? ?
Now we, brother Mats and sister Marit are at the helm of our own restaurant. ⛵ We stay busy with fish. But in our own way.
Mats is the guiding force of our kitchen and Marit is the hostess for everyone. Many things are unclear now, but one thing is certain: Together we are stronger! ?
