Sand, sea and sun, at restaurant Van Speijk in Egmond aan zee all the ingredients are present to enjoy a nice dinner or a delicious lunch. In our beautiful conservatory and from our restaurant you have a great view of the dunes and the North Sea. From our terrace, which is located on the sunny southwest side you will not miss anything of what is happening on the beach.

With the allure of the “fishing village” of Egmond, we naturally respond to the need for good fish dishes. We work with beautiful fresh products delivered to us daily directly from the fish auction. With a changing menu that changes with the seasons, we take into account the fish guide. Because of this, we will never sell protected or endangered fish species. Visiting such a website is definitely worthwhile.

With the owner’s butcher background, we also want to offer you the finest cuts of meat. In addition to a fixed assortment that is on the menu, we often have specials that we sell beyond that. Prepared on the Green Egg. We often do that only with pieces that are better done there.

Throughout the year, there is plenty to do. How about the New Year dive on Jan. 1 or the weekend of “the half marathon.” Mid-January the walking marathon and from there we slowly crawl back to the first patio days. During the winter months, from November to March, you can park for free don’t forget to stop by during the spectacular Fjoertoer weekend in late November. And in the summer, Egmond is easy to reach by public transportation and, of course, by bicycle, because for the bicycle lover it is a paradise here. The beach, dunes and landscape of Bergen County offer a wonderful opportunity to explore it by bicycle.

A piece of history

In 2008 we took over the then “Lido” and converted it into a fine restaurant. In the following years, the entire business was remodeled and renovated, from the kitchen to the restrooms. Every effort has been made to give Van Speijk a new look. The latest renovations took place in February 2016, March 2017 and October 2020. With the construction of a beautiful conservatory, a stylish replacement of the back area, a relocation of our bar and thorough renovation of our kitchen and most recently an addition to the terrace that when it rains still provides enough space to sit outside nicely covered. Have resulted in more being sourced in quality. Van Speijk is now modernized and offers additional space and better facilities.
