As a Dutch historian, I can tell you that The Egmond dialect, also called Derps, is a local dialect spoken in Egmond aan Zee and the surrounding villages such as Egmond aan den Hoef and Egmond-Binnen.<\/p>\n
The Egmond dialect is a variant of West Frisian, which in turn is a variant of Dutch. West Frisian is spoken in West Friesland, a region in North Holland that includes Egmond aan Zee.<\/p>\n
