See walked across the dune and there was the North Sea already.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be able to see the fishermen and help them with lighting (lighthouse) during storms, they built lookouts.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, these lookouts had to be placed on high dunes! However, those are scarce in the flat Netherlands. So they thought we&#8217;d put them on the highest dune and then build a scaffolding of wood that would rise above the seamounts.<\/p>\n<p>See here the lookouts were a reality.<\/p>\n<h2>Where to find the lookouts<\/h2>\n<p>In Egmond you have the Torensduin and after a walk towards the entrance to Egmond aan Zee in the dunes the Uitkijkduin.<\/p>\n<p>And the next southern lookout dune in the middle of the dunes, you get there by going right at the end of the blood road.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_2,1_2&#8243;
